My job is to help clients find the destination of their dreams. If you’ve googled “nice resort in Mexico” you’ll quickly find about 1.2 million links. And who has time to sort through that mess?
The more I travel and get to experience these resorts and brands first hand, the more I can say “Yes! You will absolutely love the food here.” or “the water at this resort is to die for”.
When I travel I am meeting managers, sales teams, and making connections that benefit MY clients! How cool is it that I can pick up my phone and have access to the manager of the resort that you’re traveling to? These relationships matter to me, because they matter to my clients.
It’s been a year of travel and I am a better person for it. It’s long days, little sleep, and beautiful views.
First up this year was Beaches Turks and Caicos and WOW. Instant favorite beach, water, and sand. This view was from the outside of my bedroom in the Italian Village. This resort has so much to offer for someone of any age. There are so many options for food and entertainment and with amazing views….
At Turks and Caicos I renewed my yearly Certification to sell Sandals and Beaches Resorts!
Next, I was able to plan a quick 3 night getaway with my husband to Royal Bahamian in Nassau. Our favorite was the piano bar and lounging by the ocean eating freshly made pizza. Our day on the (included) private island could not have been more perfect. We scheduled a couples massage on the beach in a covered hut. As soon as we laid down it was pouring rain! Complete relaxation listening to the ocean and the sound of rain.
A very dear travel agent friend and I headed to Cabo in August. We stayed at Garza Blanca which has one of my favorite infinity pools. We also did property tours of Solaz and Grand Velas. The highlight of the trip (besides the delicious food) was a morning catamaran excursion where we saw the Arch at Land’s End and rays that had migrated to the area to mate. They jump into the air and flop onto the water making a very loud popping noise. It was incredible to see! After our stay at Garza Blanca we moved over to the brand new Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos. Wow! Totally blown away. And for being practically brand new the service was outstanding. They didn’t have any “opening pains” to work out. And the fajitas. I still crave them. The architecture and design of the resort are drool worthy, themselves. If you like looking at the ocean without being in it, Cabo may be for you!!
In September I headed to Jamaica to check out Sandals South Coast and Sandals Negril. Here I was able to complete my Sandals Destination Wedding yearly training. Did you know when you stay at Sandals or Beaches for 3 nights you get a free wedding? South Coast and Negril are incredibly different properties, but the vibe of Jamaica just can’t be beat. (Did I mention I’m a Jamaican specialist?) I also did property tours of Grand Pineapple Resort and Beaches Negril.
After being home for 9 days I headed back to Jamaica. I can’t help it. I love it. This was still a work trip, but we were spoiled some too and I got to take my momma. I headed to Beaches Ocho Rios for the General Managers Reconnect. Remember me telling you that connections matter? I was hand picked to go and enjoy Beaches Ocho Rios and learn updates on the resort and hang out with the general manager and sales manager. I also did resort tours of Sandals Ochi and Sandals Royal Plantation. On one of our last days on the island, we were able to help wash freshly hatched turtles and help release them to sea with Oracabessa Bay Sea Turtle Project. I’ll write more on this is another blog, I’m sure.
To wrap up the year, I am heading back to Beaches Turks and Caicos in December as our agency is being recognized by Sandals Resorts as a top selling resort in the country. I cannot wait to share more amazing pictures of this resort and soak up a few more rays of Caribbean sun.
